Freedom - Marjorie Goddard

What Freedom Means To Me
It means that I can worship God, Allah, Buddha or whoever I desire and whenever and wherever I wish - In a Church, Temple, Synagogue, Mosque, out in the open under the spreading branches of a great oak tree or beside a babbling stream.

It means that I can watch the rising sun and thank my Maker for another day and what it will bring, and gaze at the stars at night and praise Him that I have been privileged to spend another day here on earth. That I can listen to the songs of birds instead of the noise of bursting bullets and rocket fire.

It means that I am not bound by the whims of a tyrannical dictator, but can live life fully and to the best of my ability.

It means that I can go shopping, visit friends, read a good book, work in the yard or just sit and dream.

Freedom means that I can live peacefully beside people of another color and culture, and that I can broaden my life by learning their mannerisms and life style.

And it also means that I am free - free to voice my opinion regarding our government and the people we have elected to run it without being chastised, fearful of the consequences and/or even shot.

Freedom to me means Peace - peace in my heart and soul.
